True Asian Test

Overview.

As a passion project, I created a cultural quiz which allowed a specific subset of East Asians to answer questions and reminisce on childhood experiences with friends and family. At the end, you get a score and quirky message. My goal was to create a fun quiz for friends to do together and instil a sense of belonging/community. I was able to cater to 450,000+ users.

Design.

The website was created using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The most difficult part of the process was coming up with the questions.

Result.

The quiz got a lot of traction and exposure after being posted on a Facebook group called "Subtle Asian Traits" and was able to obtain 4.4K Likes and 13K comments, which greatly exceeded my expectations. After being shared amongst friends, I was able to achieve over 450,000 users globally as shown below.

Reflections.

This project provided me with a very unique experience of launching a product for the first time, getting feedback and implementing changes in real time as soon as the website was live to the public. It was really cool seeing my website being used by people from all over the world and the positive feedback I received from the comments made it all worth it. People did reach out to me with certain concerns they had with the website in which I implemented changes promptly and accordingly. In the future, I am thinking of making a video about this whole process or making merchandise to capitalise on this exposure.
