StudentVIP

Overview.

The objective of our task was to find out why StudentVIP was experiencing declines in member joins.

Solution.

Discovering through our research that the digitalisation of education was one of the many reasons causing this decline, we recommended the redesign of the User Interface (UI). This was integral as we found out that most users had a negative UX resulting in a poor reputation and low returning users. After drafting what the new UI would look like, we surveyed students asking which UI they preferred with the new UI being the winner which strongly supported our recommendation.

Result.

As second place winners of the USYD Innovation Cup we went to compete at the NSW Regional Innovation Cup, and with much joy took home the NSW Regional Innovation Cup as winners!

Reflections.

My experience on this project opened my eyes up to the startup culture through meetings and visits to the StudentVIP office. I was able to get a feel of the startup hustle and gained a new appreciation for these businesses targeting specific demands within the community. I was also able to develop my presentation skills especially in front of large audiences and learnt alot from everyone in the team!
